What I Can Do For You

Teens see me as a confidant and mentor.
They don’t see me as an authoritative adult. I still speak 16 year-old-fluently. I’ve spent many hours working with clients as we talk and listen to music. This has brought about many emotionally intense conversations and cathartic experiences. My goal as a psychotherapist is to help my clients become who they are independent of what their environment has told them to be while beginning to understand themselves in the process.

Parents are relieved by my ability to translate for them. I can help you understand the thought process behind ridiculous behavior such as scaling the side of the house to get the iPad back. I can also explain things to your child with you. They tend to automatically shut out adults and deem them “dumb, old, and don’t understand” when being told something they don’t want to hear.

I speak both 16 year old and adult fluently. I’m able to help both sides feel heard while helping teens and parents build a healthy interdependent relationship based on communication, mutual respect and boundaries.

EMDR:

The age of information is about over. You don’t want any more information, you want insight. Something with results. I’ll show you how to overcome your fears and limiting beliefs and I will help you do it right here in my office. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is not a typical talk therapy. In fact, if you really don’t want to talk, we can do it without talking at all.

EMDR is backed with extensive scientific research. The American Psychiatric Association, World Health Organization and US Department of Defense all recommend EMDR for the treatment of trauma.
